| What was the government of Scandinavia like throughout the time span of 1066-1107?
I'm currently doing a history project on the various forms and types of government throughout history, and my group was given 1066-1107 of Scandinavia. We tried to figure out the significance of this time period and what kind of government ruled over it, but Google just gave us completely irrelevant results ("How to Lose Five Pounds per MONTH! 8D").
So I was just wondering if any of you guys could tell me (do not, I repeat, do not spend two hours trying to figure this out) or just give me an idea on what to search up. Thanks!

Alright, I did a quick search for you (I had no idea this topic was up, or it would have been sooner - don't even know if this is helpful anymore) and although many teachers don't like using wikipedia, it's a pretty decent jumping-off point. Doing a quick skim of the general time period, it seems there was a civil war that started in 1066. Quoted from wikipedia: "Sweden required a little more time to transition to Christianity, with indigenous religious practices commonly held in localized communities well until the end of the eleventh century. A brief Swedish civil war ensued in 1066 primarily reflecting the divisions between practitioners of indigenous religions and advocates of Christianity; by the mid-twelfth century, the Christian faction appeared to have triumphed; the once resistant center of Uppsala became the seat of the Swedish Archbishop in 1164. The Christianization of Scandinavia occurred nearly simultaneously with the end of the Viking era. The adoption of Christianity is believed to have aided in the absorption of Viking communities into the greater religious and cultural framework of the European continent." It seems there was a lot of christianizion going on at the time. Through more googling... Not sure how valid this is, but there seems to be a decent timeline here with key events you could possibly use: http://forums.ederon.net/default.aspx?g=posts&m=104493And the wikipedia page I used: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_ScandinaviaHope I was in time for some help. Good luck if you haven't done it yet ;)
