| - Spoiler:
✿Spring ( Juliet; Romeo )
She hiccupped again, and shook her head, refusing to tell. Wrapping her arms around her legs, she buried her face into her bony knees. Through her sniffles, she heard the sound of a shoe on gravel, and felt the fabric of a shirt brush against her shoulder. Taken aback, the small girl looked up, bewildered to find that the boy had come to sit next to her. “S’okay,” he said, “I lost something too.”
“R-Really? What was it?” she asked quietly, before feeling silly. Why would he tell her? She certainly hadn’t told him. But to her surprise, he leaned forward, and whispered it into her ear. As she listened, she felt something—the barest trace of wind perhaps, deep inside her heart, carrying a dandelion seed into the air, and burying it into a patch of earth, preparing it to blossom into something beautiful.
She felt something very much like joy.
☼Summer ( Cinderella; Romeo; Juliet )
She hated watching them. She hated watching the girl with her flushed cheeks and shy smiles. She hated watching the boy with his curious eyes and open mouth, always asking questions. She hated watching the two children run around the playground, walk through the meadows. But something about their laughter, their words, their innocence made her always follow them with her eyes.
She tried many times to give the feelings she felt a definition. Anger? But there was nothing to be angry about. Sadness? Ridiculous. She laughed at that one. Irritation? Perhaps. But something else, too. A feeling of possessiveness, the need to rip it, whatever they had, out of their hands and claim it as her own. She felt it in her throat, like a violent beast, using its claws to leave scars inside of her until every breath hurt and she felt like throwing something.
She felt something very much like envy.
☁Fall ( Romeo; Cinderella )
On the first day of school, he left Juliet’s side and went to the front of the room, where she sat watching them—as always. It had been that way since summer; he’d noticed. As soon as he moved towards her, she averted her eyes and went to organizing her books.
“Hello,” he said with a cheeky smile.
“Hello,” she replied smoothly, softly.
“You wanna go swimming with me and Juliet at the lake today?”
A look of surprise crossed her face for a second, before she shook her head. She kept her head down as she glanced up at him and he thought he saw the faintest trace of a smile on her lips, a blush on her cheeks. “No thank you.”
As he watched her stand up and leave the room, something stirred. The way she peeked at him through her lashes, the way her lips curved. Why were they engraved in his mind now? He felt lighter, his heart might have sped up. And the tip of his ears might have been pink. Just a little.
He felt something very much like bashfulness.
❄Winter ( Prince Charming; Cinderella )
“Pardon?” she asked, her eyebrows turned upwards innocently and her mouth slightly open. An imitation.
“Don’t play that game with me,” he snapped, “I know you’re not nice and cute like you’ve got that Romeo boy convinced. You’re pure evil—you just want him all to yourself.”
The transformation was immediate. Her eyebrows lowered, her lips closed into a pleasant smile, and she became Cinderella once more, “What are you going to do about it?” she challenged, victory laced into her voice. But just like he saw through her act, he saw through her voice, too. He recognized the look in her eyes: anger. Anger that he did what nobody else was able to do: see the real Cinderella.
He felt something swell inside of him—something that made him puff up his chest in pride, something that made him want to smirk and say in an obnoxious tone, “I told you so!”
He felt something very much like satisfaction.
5 Years Prior • Ages 11-13 - Spoiler:
✿Spring ( Prince Charming; Juliet )
He stared into her eyes with confidence. She couldn’t turn him down. He was charming, rich, the sports star…everything a girl wanted in a boyfriend. “No,” she finally said, and it took a while for the news to sink in.
“What do you mean, no?” he demanded, fear seizing his mind. What was wrong with him? How could she say no? Just like that? Why—and suddenly, as he stared at her, it all clicked. That Romeo boy. He saw red. He’d lost to him. He’d lost to him. Grabbing her shoulders, he pushed his lips against her own, only to be shoved back. Horrified with tear-rimmed eyes, Juliet ran from the classroom.
She was nothing more than a toy he had wanted. Something he found interesting, something he wondered about. Just like all the others. So why did he feel so empty? Was there anything in the first place?
It was the beginning of something imaginary.
☼Summer ( Juliet; Romeo; Cinderella )
Fall belonged to the school—meeting new people, learning new things. Winter belonged to friends—arranged trips to the mall and sitting by the fire sipping hot chocolate. Spring belonged to the textbooks—tutors for upcoming midterms, hours spent in the library. But Summer was different. Summer belonged to them. To her and Romeo. Or at least, it used to.
Juliet watched silently as Romeo and Cinderella conversed next to her, laughing and joking. She eyed Cinderella, and it occurred to her—the two of them had switched positions. Last summer, it was Cinderella who watched, but now…Juliet laughed bitterly to herself. How ironic. Cinderella was a good person, which she knew. Too good—good enough to capture her childhood love’s heart. It was bad of her to feel resentment, right?
It was the beginning of something complicated.
☁Fall ( Cinderella; Juliet )
“Aren’t you cold in that shirt?” She turned to the voice to find a Juliet bundled in a warm-looking jacket and scarf, “And why are you out so late anyways? It’s nearly eleven.”
Cinderella gestured for Juliet to sit next to her, in which the latter suspiciously accepted. “I needed some fresh air,” Cinderella replied honestly, much to her own surprise, “Because I’m going to America.” Of all people, she felt the sudden need to tell Juliet. “I’ve received an invitation to study abroad there. My parents said yes. I’m leaving in December.”
She didn’t know what she expected the smaller girl to say. ‘Congratulations’? ‘I’ll miss you’? Something along those lines. But she didn’t expect for her to stand up, stare straight into her eyes and say fiercely, “Don’t tell Romeo. Not now. Not ever.”
Cinderella stared at her casually, “What if I do?”
“You won’t,” Juliet replied simply, and Cinderella, deep down, knew it was true.
It was the beginning of something secretive.
❄Winter I
( Romeo; Prince Charming; Juliet )
“Liar! You’re lying!” he screamed. He would have punched him if it weren’t for the small arms that were wrapped around his waist, preventing him from surging forward. Prince Charming stared apathetically down at him, arms crossed and a sneer in place. “She wouldn’t leave me just like that!” he continued yelling, “She would have told me! Like she told you and Juliet! Stop lying, you bastard!” Vaguely, he heard the sound of Juliet sobbing.
“Stop lying to yourself,” Prince Charming said coldly, “She’s gone to America. You should be happy for her.”
He ignored him, “Why didn’t she tell me?” he whispered, tears falling freely from his face, “Why did she tell Juliet and you but not me? Did she think I wasn’t her friend? Did—”
The teachers came, ripping away the three of them from each other, scolding each of them for taking place in a fight. How disappointed they were. Juliet mumbled an apology. Why? Prince Charming cursed. Why? Cinderella was gone. Why?
It was the beginning of something already ended.
❄Winter II ( Juliet; Prince Charming; Romeo )
Prince Charming shook his head, “So let me get this straight: you knew all the way back in November? And you guys seemingly promised each other to never tell anyone, especially not Romeo about it? Why?”
Juliet stared out the window with broken eyes, “I didn’t want to hurt him.”
“Well, you just did. You might as well stab him,” Prince Charming sighed, “Was that the same with Cinderella?”
“No. Maybe. She never said.”
“That was a stupid idea. I mean, did you actually think you would never have to tell him? That he would just forget about his first love?”
The words stung. Juliet flinched and gave a shrug. She was too tired to try and explain. She avoided Romeo the rest of the day and decided she’d apologize for keeping it from him the next day. But the thing was, she never did, because that was the day he crossed the intersection and lost his memories.
It hurt too much to tell him everything, and Juliet was selfish.
It was the beginning of something broken.

| SLOTS▸ [M] Romeo | SoraAngel Curious and friendly but slightly dense when it comes to love. He was involved in an accident the day Cinderella left for America and does not remember who she is. Other details such as whether he remembers Juliet and Prince Charming, if he ever recovers his memory, etc. will be left to the rper’s discretion. ▸ [F] Juliet | OurStars Somewhat shy and sensitive. She feels very guilty for keeping the fact of Cinderella from Romeo, her childhood crush. She is a very warm-hearted girl who may wish the best for everyone, but can hurt people due to her naïve manner and clumsiness with words and lack of skill to express herself correctly. ▸ [M] Prince Charming | Nightingale One of the few people who can see through Cinderella’s façade of innocence. He’s very blunt and does not care much for people’s feelings. A little hot tempered but plenty charming—and the school’s most popular student. The heir of a successful company and recently Cinderella’s fiancé. ▸ [F] Cinderella | Torilistic An excellent manipulator. Highly intelligent and seems to care little to none about people in general. She likes to pretend to be a modest and timid girl to win favor, and has built tall walls around her heart. Has returned to Japan for her high school and is currently living with Prince Charming, her fiancé. RULES1. No godmodding, power playing, etc. 2. | 『Username』Torilistic 『Slot』Cinderella 『Name』川嶋 皆子 (Kawashima Tomoko) 『Age』16 (Sixteen) 『Gender』Female 『Personality』-Possessive & Envious-Having been raised as an only child and spoiled to the core, Tomoko has grown accustomed to getting whatever she wants, be it through her status or skills. Toys, food, people, anything. But now that she has stepped into society, where some things simply cannot belong to you, Tomoko has grown rather possessive of what she does have. She prefers to keep what she has away from people in general, such as her clothes and books. And her "people". Her "people" are basically her play toys that she has taken an interest in for whatever reasons that apply. And if one is smart, they would know to never get too close because it's for a fact that not only is Tomoko overly-possessive, but easily envious as well. Intentional or not, it is fairly easy to spark envy in Tomoko. Already self-conscious about the things she lacks, if she manages to catch even a glimpse of you with something she cannot have but deeply wants, she will immediately grow bitter and hateful feelings towards you, and will use all sorts of cruel resorts to try and snatch what you have out of your hands, sometimes just for the sake of being able to smirk at you. Manipulation, deceit, and betrayal are only just the beginning, as her envious side is always her most dangerous. -Deceitful & Manipulative-If one is to ever question a classmate of Tomoko's as to what they thought of the the young lady, their response usually consists of "sweet", "innocent", and "considerate". And in truth, this is somewhat true, because that is simply how Tomoko chooses to portray herself as (and she does an excellent job of it, too). From the way she speaks to the way she creates a dainty aura around herself, she has managed to fool the entire school as to who she truly is. That's Tomoko's specialty, after all: lying and deceiving. One of her best weapons is her tongue, as she can come up with the most realistic of lies and force her expression and body language to back her up. Tomoko, who has built up her "innocent" image so perfectly, can even occasionally forget who she truly is; a cunning, intelligent, and merciless manipulator that is deadly with words. Following along the line of Tomoko's crafty ways with words, her ability to persuade is also another prominent trait of her's. Already dead good at reading a person's mind, it can only be fate that she knows just how to apply them to her benefit. She can search inside of you, and once she hits gold, will strike your confidence down with superficial (but very convincing) lies and delusions. Her manipulation has always been her greatest advantage, and it's nearly impossible to win against her without taking it away. -Vain & Overconfident-Tall with a lush body, intelligent enough to study abroad in America, and excellent acting skills to morph who she is into something she wants to be, something deemed good in society--it is no wonder Tomoko has become somewhat proud and vain. At a very young age, it had dawned on her that she was beautiful and smart and could become kind if she wanted to, and such a realization did wonders to her self-esteem. As of now, she is awfully conceited and though she acts humble and modest like she should in order to receive the favor of her fellow classmates, she is constantly picking at others' flaws inside of her head, and it brings her immense satisfaction (and unwillingly, relief) to know that she is superior to most. Unfortunately, Tomoko seems to have overdosed in her confidence, and it renders her much more open than she would like. Somewhere along the way, her ego has affected her prized skill of manipulation. See, when manipulating, it is always important to be able to read the person's mind and have the ability to calculate accurately how they will react, what they will do, and such. And due to her vanity, Tomoko grown a destructive and deadly habit of letting her ego and pride get the best of her to the point where she can make a fatal mistake: underestimation of her enemies. She is beginning to lose her own games because there will be times in which she will play too easy, convinced that her enemy will not be smart enough to figure it out either way. And sometimes, this is the case, but it will not be long when Tomoko falls short. 『Biography』-Canary-The Caged Canary Still Sings ( Age 0 - 4 )- Spoiler:
Tomoko was born in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Mr. and Mrs. Kawashima were work-driven, stern, but very loving people who seemed the kind of couple who would come to raise clever and dignified children that would one day bring pride and honor to the family. But when Tomoko came to be in this world as a tiny and bawling infant, her mother and father's patience had long run dry from their previous children, twin brothers by the name of Akise and Ryo. By then, they were already seven and their little minds had been drained of all innocence. From insulting teachers to writing curse words in permanent marker on the walls, the twins were constantly causing trouble for their parents, who soon grew tired and irritable of their disappointing sons.
As Tomoko grew up along the years, transitioning form toddler to child, two problems remained constant. First, was the matter of her parents. As of late, the economy had been gradually worsening, and as the managers of two very well-known and popular companies, her mother and father were nearly always working late hours, struggling to keep up with the building problems. Furthermore, whenever they did find time to stay at home, Akise and Ryo pulled at their tolerance what with their failing report cards and the wrecking of household objects (the window glass had to be replaced nearly every month). With all of the stress from both work, the twins, and Tomoko piling on their plates, it was no wonder the couple began to direct their anger at each other.
More and more often, Tomoko found herself curled up in her bed, the sound of angry shouts and the crashing of furniture lulling herself to sleep. At first, she remembered crying about the fights and trying to stuff the sobs back down her throat by biting down on her sheets, for fear of having her own parents turn on her, but eventually, she grew used to the sounds and they no longer hurt as much. It was almost as if she had numbed herself, and all the stabs of pain and helplessness came in dull thuds that she hardly registered. Rather, instead of shutting her eyes tight to pray to God for it all to be over, for it all to have been a bad dream, she decided to open her eyes, and watch the fights.
A caged canary had no choice but to sing. -Mirror-She Wondered What Color She Was ( Age 4 - 6 )- Spoiler:
Slowly, she began to notice the patterns of her parents--the way her mother clenched her fist right before she shouted, the way her father threw the chairs around, as if enjoying the noise. She began to predict their movements, their words, each other's reactions. And as months turned to years, her predictions grew more and more accurate, until finally, it was as if she was the one controlling her parents. It became a sad little game she played with herself, a way to ease the pain of seeing her father slap her mother, her mother cry.
The second problem, as if the first weren't enough to handle, was none other than her elder brothers, Kawashima Akise and Ryo. As they were an entire seven years apart in age, the twins obviously had leverage against their baby sister, especially because their parents were far too obsessed with work and their arguments to even notice, much less try to put a stop to it. Thus, they bullied Tomoko to no end, be it blaming their wrongdoings to humiliating her at school to stealing her dinner and forcing her to eat their leftovers. Much like the way she'd ceased her crying with the fights between her parents, Tomoko kept her reactions and emotions surprisingly blank after a while of the torture, determined not to give then any satisfaction. Even more impressively, Tomoko, who had mastered her ability to "read" people only years ago, began to use them as her only form of defense, and eventually offense.
What with her special and useful talent, Tomoko began to train herself to put them to effect. Rather than just watching the world and reflecting everything as it was like a mirror, she began to try and actually change the shape one's reflection--be it beautifying it or deforming it. In other words, manipulation. Of course, Tomoko understood that body language played an important role in such a skill. But through the years, she had grown to be rather jaded and void of emotions. Thus, her own choice was to pretend. When the brothers accused her of stealing her mother's money, Tomoko quickly retorted back with a "they're lying", and pinched her leg so hard her eyes teared up.
Her parents easily believed her over Akise and Ryo.
As the years passed, she grew stronger from her brothers, her heart stonier from her parents. When she was of age, and had enough strength to defend herself, she dropped her "they're lying" tactic, and moved onto directly threatening her elder siblings. Not the foolish way, of course. Rather, she resorted to twisting her words into persuasive lullabies while she dug away at their hearts, searching for weaknesses, a much more dangerous and risky (but high effective if you knew how to use it) form of manipulation. "It would be better if you..." "What's the point of..." And god forbid, for six entire years, this was how Tomoko lived: fighting to survive and lying to win. A caged canary, a deceiving mirror, and as she toiled away to merely grasp onto something as insustainable as wind, she couldn't help but wonder--if she stopped feigning as herself and to others, if the mirror stopped reflecting, what color would it be?
What color would she be?
-Butterfly-She Wanted Half its Wings ( Age 6 - 11 )- Spoiler:
As Tomoko reached the tiny age of six, her parents filled in the divorce papers. The economy was gradually getting better, but the wounds would never fade away, and it seemed that Mr. and Mrs. Kawashima knew that, and resigned themselves to their fate. The divorce didn't hit Tomoko all that hard, as she had been expecting it (even a fool would). Meanwhile, Akise and Ryo, at age thirteen, had long stopped caring about petty things such as "family". But the two grew closer, hung onto each other tighter, and no matter how much trouble they brewed, how much yelling they endured, they were always together. She did not seem to know why at the time, but each time she saw them sitting together at school, eating side-by-side at the chilly dinner table, and once, when she'd watched through the crack in the door, helping each other punch a hole in their bedroom wall, cursing and crying, she felt something stab at her chest, and for some reason, she never grew so used to it, it stopped hurting.
When she reached the age of seven, something peculiar happened. A similar stab to the chest, but this time, not caused by Akise and Ryo, but two strangers. One a boy and the other a girl, and both around her age. Romeo and Juliet. They appeared somewhere around summer, sitting by the pond, running in the meadows, and always, always together. She began to watch them, enchanted by their laughing faces and energetic games. Who were they? Who were they, the glowing boy and sweet girl? Why did they make her heart ache so? And one day, she would come to learn that such a thing was called "envy". She would come to learn that she had become a damaged girl, hungry for attention and love and just some damn person to be with her. But that would not be until years and years, and as of now, the seven-year-old only knew that she wanted whatever they had, and that she could get it.
She would pretend. She would lie. She would hurt and discard and use and betray and do anything to have them. No, not them. She wanted one. If she obtained one, that one person would love and care about her. But if she had both, they would leave her all alone again, and Tomoko would once again become the girl who curled under sheets and played games by burning herself and built her ladder to the top of the world to rule. Alone. Forever. The thought horrified and frightened her, and it made her all the more desperate. And so, she used the only weapon she had. She began to make her move halfway through the summer, watching them at a decent distance, but close enough for one of them to spot--evidently, little Romeo. By fall, he had long noticed her, and even invited her to go swimming. She declined, but made sure to leave a piece of her behind to be engraved in his mind.
By winter, she'd managed to rip the butterfly in half. He was her's. But the girl...the quiet, kind, girl who watched her, trying so hard not to resent the Queen who took away what was rightfully her's. She had other things, Tomoko told herself dully, she had other things and people. Yes. But Tomoko could see, just as she could see everything else, and Juliet's sad eyes reflected the broken creature with only half a wing, the creature that couldn't fly. The creature that just might as well be a caged canary. But Tomoko did not care. She could not care.
Selfishly, she kept half its wings to herself and cried silently. It was the last time she showed any sign of regret.
-Wonder-She Left a Piece of Herself ( Age 11 - 13 )- Spoiler:
During the divorce, Mr. Kawashima had left all three children to Mrs. Kawashima. The relationship between Tomoko and her her brothers remained the same, though the twins did not try and bully her as much, as she'd grown deadly good with her tongue and actions. Meanwhile, Mrs. Kawashima became even more work-crazed, and would work for hours and hours on end, sometimes not coming back from work until one in the morning. She and Akise and Ryo were on horrible terms, as there was plenty of yelling between the three, but at least she acknowledged their existence. Tomoko, who had been much too young to attempt to speak first with her mother, had now built tall walls around her heart, and avoided her at all costs, who in turn, tried to speak as little as possible to her only daughter.
Tomoko found herself drifting farther and farther away from her home, where tears would be shed, voices would scream. She found herself speaking to the Romeo she'd stolen more and more often, opening up so much more than she'd have wanted, and it felt simply wonderful. He was her sanctuary, somebody that managed to keep her sane. She decided that she'd fallen in love with him, just as the girl had. She wanted to grow up and marry him, spend every living moment with this magical boy who made her feel complete and whole. It was too beautiful of a feeling, and she found herself unwilling to share it. She ignored the voice in the back of her mind that said, What of Juliet? What of the poor, quiet, weak Juliet whom you broke? Only one person could have him--and she was not about to step down. If Juliet wanted to challenge her for him, then she would fight back. If Juliet gave up, then she would take him as her own.
It did not take long for Mrs. Kawashima to catch notice of the peculiar boy who seemed to have sparked Tomoko's interest. She did not approve--Romeo's mother, she had heard, had not been entirely right in the head. She would not allow Tomoko to love someone who was the son of a slow woman. It would damage her reputation, and she had intended to arrange a marriage for her daughter anyways. So she confronted Tomoko, told her that she was to stop all communication with him. Tomoko refused with such fire, Mrs. Kawashima could not help but wonder when she had grown so rebellious. The conversation escalated rather quickly, and within half an hour, Mrs. Kawashima had fought and screamed at all three of her children. With shaking hands, she pointed at her daughter and screamed, "You will regret having not listened to your mother!"
Two months later, Tomoko found a ticket to America on her desk. She was being sent away to study abroad there for the rest of her middle school years, as well as all of her high school years. She could not talk her way out of this one--the flight was due the very next day. Tomoko thought of Romeo, with his cheeky grin and warm hands. It pained her to know that their "love" have been so brief. Would he forget about her, the girl with her tinkling laughter and flushed cheeks and innocence? Yes, he will. She could not have that--the idea of having the only person who ever loved her, whether it had been truly her or not, forget about her...no. Nonono. She couldn't. He couldn't. Her heart pounded as her mind worked a hasty plan, her last. She would not tell him, she decided, she would leave him to wonder. And that way, he will never forget about her.
She was returning him to the girl, to who he really belonged with. But she would leave a piece of herself behind for him. -Fate-She Loved and Hated it So ( Age 13 - Present )- Spoiler:
They all fell for her "Tomo-chan" act, they all worshipped her. Countless love letters showered down and out of her locker each morning, from both girls and boys and even teachers. Her grades soared nowhere but up, she had an endless amount of friends and had more than enough money to spend on all the luxuries. It had been everything she wanted as a young girl. But now, she could only stare at her admirers with disgust. They loved a fraud. Their love was also a fraud. How she despised them--thinking she could be manipulated, thinking she was a trophy. How dare they say they loved her? How dare they, when they did not even know the first thing about her? Why, her Romeo--her Romeo loved a fraud too. But somehow, it was different.
Maybe it was because he had been the first, or because he had loved her when her world was plunged in darkness. It did not matter. His smiles, his words, everything about him made her certain he was different from her foolish pursuers. She did not know why, or how, but simply that nobody would ever replace the hole in her heart that was meant for him. She was a fool, she realized, she was a liar and a deceiver and a damaged, damaged girl and a fool. And there was no way to change that anymore. If the only way to have somebody love her was to force herself to be someone else, someone desirable who was to hide the scars of her past underneath a layer of dimpled smiles and honey-coated innocence, then so be it. Her Romeo loved a fraud, indeed. But that was okay, because if the image of her sweet face was the memory he clung to, nothing more, Tomoko would be strong enough to propel forward.
Three years passed, and Tomoko grew alongside the seasons. She had completely lost herself--in front of everybody, she pretended and pretended. She did not even remember what her true voice sounded like, what her true smile looked like. Her life became a chore, and each night, she found herself always so tired and agitated. It seemed the only peace she could find was behind closed lids, where the faint outline of a laughing boy in a meadow found her. And she content with just that, for he had been the first and last thing she had given up on. She was okay with never seeing him again. Tomoko, for three years, led a bittersweet life. Until, at age sixteen, she received an email from her mother, a woman whom she had cut off in all forms of contact.
To: Kawashima Tomoko From: Kawashima Megumi Subject: (no subject)
You will return to Tokyo this coming August to attend Hibiya High School for the remainder of your education. Your tickets have already been prepared, and you will be picked up from the airport by your arranged fiance, Koto Tetsuya. You will also be living at his household. From there on, you will have around an hour to unpack and prepare yourself for school.
Returning to Tokyo. A fiance. And Romeo.
How she loved and hated fate. 『Strengths』-Manipulation-Tomoko finds it exceedingly easy to not only dig up a person's psychological vulnerabilities, but also use such knowledge to determine which tactics of manipulation may prove effective and to her own benefit. She has long forgotten how to feel remorse or guilt, and this comes in quite handy. -Observant-One of Tomoko's many reasons as to why she is so successful and skilled at manipulation is her observant ways. Capable of picking up changes in patterns or differences in human emotion and action, Tomoko can easily take notice of the smallest of details, which proves to be very useful. -Pretending-From forcing her cheeks to color to squeezing tears from her eyes to feigning pain from an injury, Tomoko is quite the actress. She has a very strong grip on her body control, and can force it to do whatever she wishes. Thus, her acting abilities along with her persuasive words prove to be a very deadly duo. 『Weaknesses』-Humiliation-One of the things that can unhinge Tomoko is humiliation, as she holds her pride about all else, and once it's shattered, it becomes very hard for her to pick up the pieces. But then again, in order to break her, you need to catch her, and such a task can be much harder than expected. -Jealousy/Envy-Tomoko understands that there is a difference between jealousy and envy, and she suffers from both. Possessive of her things and angered when she sees others coming in close contact with them as well as hungering for what she doesn't have, she unwillingly can be lured into such traps, as long as they are well-made. -Underestimation-The hole in every manipulator's web. Though she is unaware of her growing problem as of late, Tomoko is gradually becoming more and more careless with her words and is making more and more mistakes, as she's sat ontop of her throne for too long, and has begun to grow lazy and underestimate her opponents. 『Relationships』-Romeo-Despite how Tomoko acts completely lovestruck with Romeo, she has never actually stopped to really question what her feelings are towards him. She claims that she is in love with him, desires him, and her actions back her up on such a statement, but in the back of her head, a part of the young woman isn't all that sure--she has pretended and impersonated the sweet "Tomo-chan who loves Renji-kun" for too long, and though all of her blushes and giggles are supposedly fake, she's blurred the lines between true love and an act that she's forgotten the purpose of. -Juliet-Tomoko hates Akemi with a passion, and unlike Romeo, it is a feeling that she is completely certain of. Akemi is adorably awkward and sweet and kind and everything that her fake persona consists of, and it is amazing how much this infuriates Tomoko. The fact that people like her, who can't even see manipulation when it's in front of their face, exist drives Tomoko nearly insane, because no matter how much she bullies and hurts the girl, all she ever does is reprimand herself, and refuses to give Tomoko the satisfaction of being able to gloat and smirk at the shy dear. -Prince Charming-Tomoko and Tetsuya aren't close, but something about their abilities to read through each other's acts of charisma and timidness seems to bind them together. Tomoko finds him decent enough to talk to, and the fact that he already knows who she truly is brings about a great relief, as it does become rather tedious to always be pretending. They two speak to one another in a rather blunt and harsh manner, but neither are really affected by this. Tomoko doesn't particularly care about their engagement, as she has decided to first snatch Renji away from that dreaded Akemi. 『Others』-Bob Cut-Although Tomoko's hair was kept long and elegant all throughout her childhood and during her time in America as well, she has cut it all off just below her ear into a bob cut, a few weeks prior the beginning of tenth grade. It is the stereotypical haircut of a mode student, and very old in style. Nevertheless, Tomoko favors the haircut because it supports her "innocent" and "kind" facade. -Cinderella-Tomoko's favorite fairytale princess was Cinderella as a child, but not for the reason one would expect. She has a theory in which Cinderella is clever and a liar who left her shoe on purpose when the clock struck twelve. For this, she admires the fictional princess very much, as she herself is somewhat of a liar and deceiver who does not wish to hurt on purpose, but will not hesitate to do so if it means an advantage.

P e r s o n a l i t y ? { Sensitive / Guilty } Akemi has always been the one who is able to feel what others feel, naturally empathetic, regardless of whether she can really relate to someone's plight. She can see the pain and sadness of others, and honestly doesn't know how to stop seeing it. She just does, and obviously is incapable of sitting by and letting the things to continue, because they seem to crush the sympathetic young woman just as much as they crush others- there have been occasions on which, upon hearing someone's sad story, she literally began to cry, shocking people around her. The young woman can't help feeling things strongly, and this is especially troublesome when people seem to slight or insult her. She takes most things to heart, honestly, and therefore is quite likely to dwell on the criticisms of others to the point where she begins to believe them. There have been times when several little things have rolled into one, leaving the young woman with an aching feeling in her stomach and unable to keep down her food- those are the times which she quietly calls 'The Bad Times', though she keeps them surprisingly well hidden from others, for fear of inconveniencing people.
After all, Akemi is the type who will blame herself for anything that goes wrong, regardless of her level of involvement, and tends to allow herself to carry far more guilt than is necessary. The guilt shows in little ways- the slight slouch of her shoulders, the hesitance in her gaze, etc, but it can be seen nonetheless. It is another thing she simply is apparently unable to help- blaming herself. It would seem as though she is a glutton for guilt, and has difficulty dealing with it in ways which would be considered healthy. She will go out of her way to be as kind and sweet to a person as possible if she blames herself for any sort of negative thing happening to them, and otherwise will seem slightly out-of-sorts when she is carrying the self-inflicted burden. She will feel bad and scold herself for thinking poorly of a person whom she would normally think admiral. A relevant example of this would be her envy towards Tomoko. Despite being jealous of the girl owning Renji's affections, she genuinely fell for the young woman's act, just as the majority of people did. Because she believed Tomoko to be kind, sweet and timid, she constantly chided herself for ever thinking poorly of the young woman. It is one of the things that makes her ashamed, the fact that she cannot stop herself from thinking badly on others- it only adds to her guilt.
{ Shy / Awkward } Although she may be a sweetheart, or at least tries her best to be, Akemi isn't the most socially gifted young woman. In general, she is shy to the point of having difficulty maintaining eye contact for more than two seconds, and will blush furiously during that short period of time. She may like the company of people and secretly like attention as well, but the girl isn't capable of dealing with it very well. Long story short, she tends to be very awkward in interactions- her small talk is abysmal at best, and she has this tendency to trip over her words when nervous or in anyway emotional at the time. Lacking tact, most certainly, she also has a problem with saying things that she really shouldn't, things that were supposed to be a secret or, in more minor situations, simply make her look like a fool. It isn't necessarily that Akemi is stupid, but that she can't deal well with large groups of people, and isn't the best under pressure. The only thing she is good at, when it comes to conversations, is getting people to trust her. She has an unassuming air about her that appears to make people think that she is safe immediately- perhaps because she hardly looks threatening, all blushes and anxiety.
In the situations where Akemi has tried to improve her talent with people, she has ended up embarrassing herself quite thoroughly, and has thus, in an act which she herself labels as cowardice, done her best to avoid such circumstances ever since. She would far rather be a wallflower or something than try and mimic the more outgoing people and ending up tripping over her words and looking like more of an idiot than some people already assume that she is. Now, she's awkward enough as it is, but when nervous she is a trainwreck that people can't seem to take their eyes off of. Some find it adorable, others repulsive, but her behavior when nervous seems to take the cake for the best example of lacking social prowess that many people have seem. She will say exactly what she thinks, unable to control her filter in that state, and says some rather strange things. It is as though she contracts a serious case of verbal diarrhea, and everything just kind of spills out in a muttered rush, like some guilty child admitting to their transgressions. All of these things are best avoided by her keeping within her circle of friends, and only stepping out for brief periods of time. Or else she would surely be a figure constantly blushing and certain to trip over her feet at every turn- the very picture of embarrassing.
{ Naive / Sweet } On top of being frightfully awkward to the point that it can be painful to watch, Akemi is a rather gullible person, within a reasonable extent of course. She has never once doubted that Tomoka is who she claims to be, regardless of whether anyone else tries to sway her otherwise. She likes to believe the best of people, naive in her steadfast philosophy that everyone has good in them, and that people should given as many chances as they need in order to change. This leaves her quite open to be manipulated, of course, but the young woman would rarely notice it happening, being too sweet and perhaps slightly oblivious to the corruptions of others, to busy noticing and scolding herself about her own demons. Of course, she has a limit, and isn't going to allow herself to be completely walked all over if she has something that she truly, genuinely wants, but otherwise she does tend to have a push-over personality type to her. In fact, her naivete does not only apply to manipulations, but also to things such as quiet but important social orders or unspoken rules. And of course, any sort of innuendo or anything of the sort is enough to leave her completely baffled until it is explained to her, at which point the girl will turn scarlet and stutter out some lackluster response. She may be fairly smart when it comes to academics, but the young woman has never had an abundance of street smarts, this is for certain.
This is partially because she is so sweet, as mentioned when her sensitivity was highlighted, and therefore has this strange optimism which leads her to believe the best of everyone. After all, what would reason would anyone possess to lie to her about who they genuinely are? So she continues to believe and willingly extend her help towards other (when her stifled grudges don't rear their ugly heads) who appear to be in any degree of need. Once one gets past the awkwardness and the fact that she seems to struggle with her own sense of guilt constantly, they may find someone who genuinely cares when they ask you how your day was, and doesn't mind going the extra mile in order to make a friend smile. She was a wallflower for much of her life, and hence seems to understand how to make people smile, simply from watching others do it.
{ Faithful / Grudges } Whatever else she may be, Akemi is a young woman who will remain loyal to those she cares about throughout any situation, regardless of how severe it may be. Once she begins to feel a connection with a person, romantic or platonic, she loathes to see it break, and therefore will do her utmost in order to keep that person by her side, even if it requires that she do things uncharacteristic of her typical nature. She can be counted on to support a friend through thick and thin, and will rarely hesitate before serving as a shoulder to lean against. Although her personality is shy and awkward, she may even be prompted to speak in front of others if it were to defend a dear friend, though the words will probably be ineffective thanks to her nervousness and clear lack of ability to back anything up should things take a turn for the worse- she isn't exactly a fighter, after all. Instead she is a person who will serve as a silent support system, quietly keeping people going without actually having to stand in the spotlight, if it is at all possible to avoid such a thing. Still, she would do anything for a friend, regardless of whether it put her in harms way instead of them.
Unfortunately, Akemi also happens to be slightly faithful in her grudges, something one wouldn't assume from such a sweet and nonconfrontational soul. Still, it is the case, though she tries to keep those 'shameful' grudges and petty dislikes pushed off to the side, so that no one will realize that she, too, has her own demons. She can hardly stand knowing about them herself, and with each grudge or dislike she forms in her mind piles more guilt on her frail frame. And yet they will continue to stick unless something large influences the course in a different direction. Luckily, it does take quite a bit to earn a grudge from the young woman, for the most part at least. There are situations in which people may find themselves unintentionally on her bad side, though them finding this out easily is unlikely. One such situation would be hurting one of her loved ones or, on a far more selfish level, taking someone away from her whom she had cared very dearly for. The grudge she has continued to feel the second most guilt about is that she holds towards Tomoka, because it led her to not tell Rinji the truth, and to leave her trapped in her own lies of omission.
B i o g r a p h y ? { Little Rose } Age 0-7
- Spoiler:
Akemi was born to a simple home, not extravagant by any means, but one where she could be clothed and fed well enough, and had parents who loved her dearly. From the beginning, she had been a small and rather sickly child, born prematurely and only surviving because her doctor happened to be very good at what he did. She spent the first two weeks of her life in the hospital, suffering from conflicting blood types that nearly killed her- she stopped breathing for a minute, and that minute terrified her parents to the core. However, live the young girl did, ending up her daddy's little girl and her mother's princess. However, the sickness did not end there, and her parents made very modest incomes to begin with. Her mother went back to work and her father worked overtime in order to pay for the expensive hospital bills of an ailing daughter. There were years when Akemi spent more time in the hospital than she did at her own house, and months when she only saw her parents once a week. She may have received their full attention, but her illness was causing them grief, and she despised that more than anything else. The girl, even at such a young age, felt horrible for making her parents feel that exhaustion she could see in them.
Living a life in a hospital gave her the ability to see how others suffered and triumphed, and gave her a great respect for others. However, she felt guilty every moment she spent there. Perhaps that isn't the right word. She wasn't quite old enough to know precisely what she felt when she saw the bags under her parents' eyes, but she knew that she didn't like it, and that it made the food in her stomach difficult to keep down. When she was six years old, the young woman experienced her first 'bad times', when food was difficult to hold down and she had difficulty sleeping, in a way which wasn't related to actual disease. That is what her doctors called it back then, and the name simply managed to stick with her. Those bad times would cling with her, so that every time she became too stressed, felt too guilty or simply became too terrified of things, she was liable to enter a temporary 'bad time', where her normal shyness became intensified and she seemed to wilt away a bit.
Akemi also missed a good amount of her kindergarten and first grade years due to being hospitalized, and that didn't help her social skills, leading to a life of awkwardness and shyness because she lacked those initial times in which one sharpened such skills. She had a teacher sent by the school, and did well in her studies, but most admit that the primary reason for the first two years of school are to adapt to a learning environment and to develop social skills. Still, in the Spring of [insert] grade, she met someone who would become her first friend. The girl had lost a doll her mother had given her only weeks ago for her birthday, and had snuck out of her room to find it. After a while, she stopped in the park and began crying, frustrated and worried that she would be scolded for leaving her room without permission. That was when she met him, Renji Kashino, the person whom she would come to rely on and, eventually, like as more than a friend. In fact, the crush probably began the moment he smiled at her and said "I lost something too."
She spent the summer with that boy, and it helped the timid young girl. She started a new treatment that was working, and she felt well enough to start school in the Fall with everyone else. As luck would have it, she was in the same class as Renji. Everything seemed to line up perfectly- she felt like the luckiest girl in the world- like the 'Bad times' would never come back.
{ Wallflower } 7-10
- Spoiler:
The next few years were quite lovely for the young girl, despite the fact that she never quite attained those social skills which were crucial for a normal life. Instead, she was always something of a pushover, easily ignored until it better suited someone else. Perhaps if she had been slightly better at speaking, she would have been well-liked for being a tad bit adorable, but she never quite had that factor which allowed her to click with others in the way she would have liked. From an early age she had been something of a wallflower, noticed only by her parents or by nurses, if only due to her weak physique which demanded attention. However, as she grew healthier and such, that loss of weakness somehow made her less noticeable, no longer quite as frail though far from made of steel. Being by Renji's side made her feel more confident, despite the fact that she only had one friend besides him, a girl named Jojo who had moved to Japan from England to be with her Aunt and Uncle the year prior. Both of them were ill-adapted to the place, although in the case of Jojo it was less awkwardness and more the fact that she was going through severe culture shock, even at that young age. Of course, even though she did have Jojo, it was Renji who made Akemi's heart flutter at that young age. The more time she spent with him, the more she began to feel that strange fluttering feeling, as though she had to sneeze.
However, the young girl was still quite sensitive to her surroundings, and began to notice more and more the fact that Renji seemed to spend a good amount of time looking at a girl from their class, someone who seemed sweet and innocent and beautiful, yet not nearly as awkward as Akemi. In her eyes, Tomoko was the perfection that she couldn't achieve, and the jealousy which this began to inspire in her only furthered Akemi's belief of this to be the case. She knew that she wasn't good enough for Renji, or at least had decided so at this point, but still feared losing him, especially as Jojo had recently begun talking about moving back to London to live with her father and new step-mother. Her fears were confirmed as Renji began to drift away, spending more and more time with Tomoko and less with her. Still, at least she could look forward to those summers, ones in which she could have Renji all to herself. That is, until Tomoko began to be part of those sacred times as well, terrifying Akemi as she feared being replaced. Of course, oblivious though he was, Renji didn't completely miss the fact that he spent less time with Akemi. Whenever he expressed concern, though, the young girl would simply smile a little bit and insist that she was fine- she had plans with Jojo, or homework to do. She was busy- he should go ahead and have fun with Tomoko. It was their mutual gentleness that drove the wedge, no doubt, for neither could deny the happiness of another person. Still, Akemi began to resent Tomoko, and hate herself for doing so at the same time. At least she still had Renji to a point, and Jojo was there to comfort her. Until Jojo's talking came true, and her only friend besides Renji was taken from her. Then, she began to falter.
{ Wilted } 10-13
- Spoiler:
Akemi ran into a bit of bad luck, partially stirred up by a dash of being slightly doormat-like and the tendency to blame everything on herself. When she was around ten, she and Renji had drifted a good amount, though she had desperately tried to cling on. Or had done so silently, for she continued to chime words of comfort and such on the outside, unsure of what else she could possibly do. Jojo left that year as well, and to an extent, Akemi was left on her own, because Renji was spending more and more time with Tomoko, that girl who had stolen Akemi's place. She certainly felt incredibly guilty each time she experienced a pang of dislike towards Tomoko, who appeared the very image of an angel, and superior to Akemi in every imaginable way. While she felt neglected and guilty and grudging all at once, Akemi began to go through 'Bad Times' again. She would miss school for days at a time, coming back and giving an excuse such as a flu or some other virus of sorts. The teachers knew the truth, but she didn't want her classmates to know. More importantly, she didn't want Tomoko and Renji to know the truth about her nature, one which seemed to occasionally teeter between the edge of sweet shyness and awkward misery. During the Bad Times, the young woman would have trouble eating without vomiting her food, physically incapable of keeping down anything more than a bit of applesauce or a granola bar now and again. This decrease in eating made her thinner and paler, and her immune system fell, making her susceptible to the viruses she had started off as blaming for her absences.
When she did come to school, she cherished and dreaded it all at once, for it meant that she could see her beloved, for by now she acknowledged her feelings for him, Renji, but at the same time had to witness him blushing and smiling at Tomoko. Or even worse, see his features crumple in concern and sadness at seeing her state- the one thing she couldn't deal with at all. Often times, Akemi would go to school even when going through the bad times, simply excusing herself to the restroom directly after lunch, or simply not eating at all. At first people thought she may have contracted an image complex which lead to bulimia, because of course no one really knew too much about the shy young woman who seemed to fade into the background. Her true confidante during these times was Jojo, though they could only communicate long distance, and the time-zones made it difficult to do so as frequently as Akemi would have liked. Though she still loved Renji dearly, it was Jojo who helped her when the Bad Times were at their worst and her parents simply couldn't take time off of work.
The Spring before she was hospitalized for a month, she was called outside during lunch by a person who she would never have thought would know that she existed- the extremely popular Tetsuya, who was praised by the female classmates as having it all- looks, skills, wealth, and charm. Of course, to these things Akemi was blind, so enamored with her childhood love that all else seemed to pale in comparison. So of course she was taken completely off-guard when he asked her out- she had expected him to ask to copy off of her homework or something more along those lines. This actual intention of his was completely unprecedented for she who had never faced such a thing before. Although she hesitated for a second, it was only due to shock. Her answer was clear the moment his request sank into her mind- perhaps before that, even. She thought he would probably shrug, maybe insult her, and then leave. Instead, in a sudden moment she found his lips crammed against hers in a way which was forced and painful. And all she could think about for that second before she found the strength to push him away was that now she had lost her first kiss. Being the romantic that she was, Akemi viewed the first kiss as something special, and it had been stolen from her. Shocked, angry, and hurt, the young woman pushed Tetsuya away with all her might and ran away, trying and failing to hold back the tears brimming in her eyes. The next week she was hospitalized for a month after collapsing and falling down a flight of stairs in her house. She was dehydrated and malnourished. Family visited her in the hospital, as did Renji and Tomoko. Jojo even stayed up late for video calls. When Akemi seemed to regain strength, she returned to school, only to take finals and then have school let out. She spent the summer with Renji and Tomoko, but the swapping of places remained painfully clear to the young woman. She was trying to suppress the Bad Times from coming back, but watching the two act so bashful around each other only made her feel miserable and awkward, as though she would fade into the background completely- just another part of the scenery.
That is, until she ran into Tomoko and learned of the girl's imminent departure. She knew it was selfish and cruel, but something came over her that made her request Tomoko not tell Renji. And apparently the girl did not. Renji was heartbroken and confused when Tomoko left, even getting into a fight with Tetsuya over it, while Akemi trembled in the corner, overcome by conflicting guilt and fear for the consequences of her selfish actions. Even Tetsuya, the boy who had stolen her first kiss, reprimanded her for her decision to keep the truth away from Renji. However, before she could right any wrongs, the accident struck.
{ Blooming Bud } 13-Present
- Spoiler:
When the accident struck, Akemi rushed to be by Renji's side, momentarily forgetting all else in favor of sitting by his bed constantly until the young man woke up from his coma. He woke to find her crying over his bed, terrified that he would die and the last words she had said to him will have been lies. His awaking scared her at first, for she hadn't expected it, but for the brief hours afterwards she could only feel this overpowering relief that he was alive and, hopefully, well. After that, every time she went back to visit him it was with the intent of correcting the mistakes of the past by telling him the truth. But each time she ended up chickening out, instead just talking with him about little things. There was a week of Bad Times were the guilt was especially bad, but she never let him know that she spent the week in the hospital, in the psychiatric wing. Instead she would visit him in normal clothing everyday and carry on as normal, not wanting to bother him. As he regained his memories, she was both overjoyed and disappointed at once, although not entirely sure how that was possible. She nearly cried with joy when he recalled her, but lived with a fear that he would come to recall Tomoko as well, and would sink into a depression again as the fresh wave of reaction hit him. The months went on, though, and it seemed that the last three years had been eradicated from his memories, from what she heard.
She stayed with him until he was well enough to attend school once more, and even then guided him through everything, acting like a puppy which followed its master around faithfully. To some extent, it helped her to relieve some guilt, though by no means was she completely freed of it. Other than that, she felt as though she had recaptured some of their old relationship, and this made her happy, regardless of how selfish that happiness was. He needed her, and she couldn't help but like it. Over the next year or so, the Bad Times seemed to disappear as they had when she had begun hanging out with Renji as a kid- his presence helped her stress to decrease some, and therefore her stomach could work as one should. She began to gain back the worrying amounts of weight that she had lost, no longer looking entirely like skin and bones. She tried to push the guilt to the back of her head, and on the better days Akemi succeeded in doing so. Of course, not all days can be better days, and there were other days where she felt the weight of lying to her best friend. Still, she kept her secret. Even the sweetest of people must have flaws, and hers was the desire to keep things as they were- her fear of being hated. So they continued life as usual, Renji adapting back to normal life and Akemi seeming to be able to cope a bit better with her inner demons. Until an unexpected person resurfaces in their lives, that is.
-
S t r e n g t h s ? { Empathy } As mentioned in 'sensitive', Akemi appears to have a talent for knowing when others are in pain or are feeling downtrodden, and therefore can do her best to react appropriately. Though she may often wish that these things weren't clear to her, it may be considered a gift because it allows her to know when others need to be comforted or helped out. She may be socially awkward, but she can tell when others aren't in top form, even if they try to hide it. The wallflower notices, after all, and understands.
{ Memory } Although it was previously mentioned that Akemi isn't exactly the most knowledgeable in the ways of the world and general rules of common sense, she does do quite well in her academics thank to a mind naturally skilled with retaining facts and information. Subjects such as biology and math are her best because they are often composed of memorization and application, not so much complete grasping of things. She can remember what she had for breakfast a month ago, and yet is incapable of maintaining eye contact or easily identifying someone who harbors ill-will towards her. Unfortunately, this memory is part of what makes up the bit of her personality she is so ashamed of- the tendency to hold grudges. When she has a reason to form one against a person, she will remember it, willingly or no, and that can make it somewhat hard to forgive a person.
{ Animals } Honestly, Akemi is probably better liked by animals than by humans- well, more definitely than probably, because animals have less of a problem with her fumbling words and general awkwardness. The girl will stop and feed an animal that she sees regularly, or leave her umbrella over box of young creatures if it is raining. In return, animals seem to like her, and her nonthreatening air allows them to trust her fairly easily.
W e a k n e s s e s ? { Lack of Eloquence } Akemi has always had some difficulty expressing herself, even as a young child, and that did not change as she grew to be an older and somewhat more mature person. Rather, some may say that it grew worse, though this is possibly because they never knew her in her younger years, when she was even more likely to avoid attention when possible. Some are gifted with the ability to enchant others with their words and have people hanging off of their every utterance. Others may be mediocre, but capable of amusing others with little stories and jokes, or maintain serious conversations of depth and substance. Akemi, unfortunately, is not one of either category. Instead, she tends to say things that lack tact, or to reiterate the stupidest of her thoughts, too nervous to maintain a decent filter. She simply has difficulty expressing herself, and this is seen in the way she fidgets and blushes anxiously when she has something to say, only to have the words lodged in her throat when she is finally given the chance.
{ Clumsiness } Oh yes, the stereotype of the shy and awkward girl being clumsy creeps its way in and finds a home in the form of Akemi. Part of her awkwardness comes from the lack of balance or physical talent, after all. She can be trusted on to trip over a flat surface, or slip down the stairs dangerously. These risks are even higher when she is excited and rushing, for in those situations one can be certain that she will find something to fall over or to drop. She has broken plates, twisted ankles and cut her fingers because she simply cannot seem to maintain a decent center of gravity. Even when standing still, she seems to lean ever-so-slightly to one side, or stand with a hunched and relatively unattractive posture- both things that serve to make her seem constantly about to teeter over the edge and fall for the last time. It is safe to say that she should be kept away from very high places.
{ Guilt } -See 'Sensitive/Guilt'-
-
R e l a t i o n s h i p s ? { Cinderella } Akemi really wishes that she didn't have any sort of grudge against Tomoko, because she has completely fallen for the timid sweetheart act, just like everyone else. Believing that to be her true personality makes her feel guilty for being jealous about the way that Renji looks at Tomoko, but she feels guilty nonetheless. Still, Akemi does her utmost to be as kind as possible to Tomoko, especially after the young woman never told Renji about her leaving to America in the past. Perhaps if Renji wasn't there, Akemi would get along better with Tomoko. Then again, that refers only to the image of the young woman that Akemi has, not the deceitful truth. Were she to know the truth, the young woman would likely be just a bit more cautious with her trusting nature.
{ Prince Charming } Akemi doesn't really talk to him very much, but to some extent they are bound by a mutual secret being kept from Renji- or rather, which had been kept for that period of time before Renji had lost his memory. Akemi isn't one to forget easily, though, and is still likely to flinch away slightly if he so much as reaches out to hand her something. She isn't exactly the bravest of souls, and has seen the side of him that everyone else would deny exists. Not that she would ever tell a soul about his actual side, because that isn't really her nature. Besides, his fangirls terrify and confuse her- she can't understand why someone would desire Tetsuya when Renji is around.
{ Romeo } Akemi has had a crush on Renji ever since they were both children, and indeed has decided that he is the only guy for her- she only has eyes for the gentle young man, even though she knows that he chose Tomoko over her. Already a sap to begin with, she is quite hopeless when it comes to Renji, it should seem, and appears to believe that he can do no wrong. She isn't confrontational by nature, but wouldn't hesitate to defend him if necessary. Actually, and this is slightly pitiful, she could probably be compared to a puppy or something when it comes to Renji, because she seems to be fine just going along with him- an Eponine sort of character in that way. She doesn't seem particularly interested in other guys, to be honest- she's already had her heart broken by him unintentionally once, and doesn't seem guarded to stop that from happening again. The fact that she still feels guilty about withholding the truth about Tomoko's absence still haunts her, though.
O t h e r s ? { Strays } Akemi has always had a soft spot for things which seem helpless, and stray animals can quite easily tug at the young woman's heart strings. She tends to bring home any injured animal that she finds, driving her mother insane because the elder woman is allergic to many of the different furs. Still, she does it anyway, trying to hide the creatures in her room or, for dogs and bigger animals, in the playhouse in her backyard. There is a chance that she will be able to recognize a stray on the street, if it isn't newly there, because those that she doesn't take home, the young woman feeds or plays with during her free time. Sherlock has his homeless network, but Akemi has a stray network.
{ Dr. Pepper } Normally Akemi isn't a huge fan of sodas, or any other caffeinated beverages to be completely honest, but she seems to have formed an addiction to Dr. Pepper sometime over the course of her life. She has at least a bottle a day, and admits that she has a bit of a problem. The caffeine never seems to make her more energetic or anything, but she does get headaches (varying in severity) when she goes for too long without indulging in another bottle.
{ Red Flowers } The young woman likes flowers of all types, but ones of the color red have always seemed the most striking to her, and so she likes them regardless of any thorns or the way their color is reminiscent of blood. If one were to ask what her favorite flower or plant is, she would probably simply say 'red ones', without being able to specify a specific type.
{ Vanilla } Another thing which Akemi seems to love is the scent of vanilla- she has wondered into shops before simply to follow the scent, not really paying attention to where she was going at the time. Her room always smells of it, and she likes to make sweets flavored vanilla quite frequently. In fact, she herself occasionally smells like vanilla, because she has hand lotion that smells of it, and of course from any sort of cooking with it.

Slot: Prince Charming
Name: Koto Tetsuya
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Personality:
"Two-Faced"
At school, he's charming. He always keeps a pleasant, kind on his face, and he's the person to help you out in your time of need. Tetsuya is the perfect, kindhearted young man on the outside. On the inside and at home, he's a completely different person. His thoughts are ruthless and cruel when it comes to other people. Tetsuya has been raised to have a realistic and overall negative view of people and their capabilities. He's developed a subtle way of being mean to people he dislikes beneath his charismatic smile, and when accused, is sure to give you a bullet-proof excuse. Besides, he's positive that any who crosses him won't last long against his fan girls. The only ones who have seen his true personality are Akemi, Tomoko, and Renji, and he's going to keep it that way.
"Just a bit angry"
- Although he's rarely shown it, Koto Tetsuya really does have a bit of a temper. Angry feelings from his childhood have sitting in his heart for a long time now, so any major provocation stirs them up and makes him lash out. When losing his temper, he has a habit of saying more than he really should. Cruel secrets and insults spill out without a moment's hesitation. Tetsuya has never got into a fight before, but he sure has considered beating the crap out of Renji that one day at school in the schoolyard. You get a taste of how empty he really is.
"Short, and to the point"
- Time is money, but money means nothing to him. No, the reason Tetsuya is so dismissive is due to the fact that he can't stand people. He refuses to waste time drawing things out and merely ends a conflict with a few words. Arguments are pointless; just say what you need to say and get on with your life. His words are at times blunt and cutting, but it's usually the truth, so get over it. Tetsuya has no time for such trivialities and only wants to move on from conversation to another. His business-like upbringing has a lot to do with how he talks to people.
Biography:
Once Upon A Time...
- Spoiler:
"Once upon a time, in a big grey mansion, a little baby boy was born at night in a isolated room far from anyone else's room. His daddy was a very rich man, and the mommy was -------. After the little baby was born, Mommy wrapped him up and stole away into the night.
A few months passed, and suddenly the little prince was sent to an orphanage, and immediately adopted by a Mr. Koto and his wife Mrs. Koto. They took him into their home, and raised him as their own, never telling him that he was adopted.
Eventually the little prince began to grow up into a sweet little boy. When the little boy started growing up, his relatives, who weren't as rich as his daddy and mommy, started being meanies to him, because they wanted his daddy's money and didn't like him for being adopted. So the little prince began to harden up until he was a perfect little statue.
Then the little prince went to school. He learned to be a nice kid even though he was a meanie, and that's where he met another meanie like him named Tomoko. She didn't like that he knew she was a meanie, and was mean to him. But that's okay. He could take it.
The years began to pass, and as the growing prince became more charming and handsome on the outside, he got more evil and broken on the inside. You see, his relatives still didn't like him, and Mommy and Daddy fought all the time now. He didn't know over what, but every time he entered a room, Mommy would give him a mean look.
Later on at school, he met a girl named Akemi and a boy named Renji. They, along with Tomoko, could see that he was a bad guy inside, so he could easily talk to them. He started to like Akemi, but she didn't want him. When he kissed her, she ran away crying, and the prince felt something fade inside of him.
After this, the little prince's story got ugly."
There was a Dysfunctional Family...
- Spoiler:
SPOILERS! Don't worry, you'll find out the rest throughout the role play. Trust me though, he's got a lot of family issues.
Strengths:
"Lights! Cameras! Action!"
Besides Tomoko, Tetsuya regards himself as the greatest actor ever born. Who else could deceive all of his school friends into thinking he was charming? Granted, he can be charismatic, but he can also get mean. Fast. Many a times he's ramped up his sexy-o-meter to get what he wants. He's never failed, and won't hesitate to twist one's feelings until he's done with you. He's not into crying like Tomoko, but he could definitely play the victim if need be.
"I Have No Heart"
This was a statement he once said to his father one morning after being told to care a bit about something. Every cruel action he does, or every malicious thought he has causes him no remorse; he feels nothing but emptiness. Because of this, there's no chance of someone's insults hurting him. Lately however, that's begun to change for the worse.
"Even if I'm wrong, I'm right"
Tetsuya enjoys debates, and has become a master at defending his claim. He will fight for an opinion to the last straw unless he is proven wrong. Then, and only then, will he give up. He's not afraid to fight dirty to get his way (which is probably why he hasn't joined the debate team; it would give him away).
Weaknesses:
Mudslinging
When someone clearly makes an enemy of him, Tetsuya has a hard time keeping himself from starting rumors. He's like a gossiping chicken, only the rumors are homemade and he usually can't stop talking. Wanna dig up dirt on someone? Talk to him, because he's got the loosest mouth in the whole school.
Rejection
Before Juliet, he had never been denied anything. Ever. It's easy enough for him to reject other people, but things get personal when someone rejects him. That's the only to penetrate his iron skin.
"It wasn't me!"
He can never take responsibility for mistakes. A stout perfectionist, Tetsuya would rather die before admitting he did something wrong. This has cost him one of his only true friends, but he can't stop lying when accused.
Relationships:
Romeo
Despite all the negative altercations they've been in, Tetsuya honestly doesn't have a steady opinion of him. The boy annoys him, but he hasn't quite figured it out yet. He despises the fact that Juliet rejected him for Romeo, and ever since then has held contempt and a rather low opinion of him. At the same time though, he almost feels...an interest in him. This will take more investigation.
Juliet
He's watched her since they were in elementary school, but she barely paid him the slightest romantic interest. Akemi was the only girl who had ever seemed uninterested in his good looks or charm, and that intrigued him. So he went after her. Unsurprisingly, she rejected him. Yet, the rejection hurt much more than he thought it would. He tells himself it was meaningless and he's over it, but lately he's been thinking more and more about it, and he's not satisfied with a no.
Cinderella
Perhaps they could call themselves friends, but truthfully, Tetsuya feels no affection for her. He admires her for her acting skills and ruthlessness in getting what she wants. That's about all they have in common. He finds himself growing more and more irritated about the fact she claims to love Romeo, except he doesn't know why. Tetsuya used to think he understood her. Now that she's come back and is moving in with him, he doesn't know what to think.
Others:
Alcohol
Since the day he turned sixteen, Tetsuya has been sober only once. He drinks alcohol in the morning before school, then he comes home and drinks. It's a handy coping mechanism of his that helps keeps up the Prince Charming act and ignore his problems. No one has ever noticed he was drunk only because of how much control he has over his drunken state.
Got Mints?
If you've ever smelt Tetsuya's breath, you'll notice it always smells like spearmint. He always some in his pockets wherever he goes. They're very handy, especially when you're trying to cover up the smell of alcohol on your breath. However, they just happen to be very tasty as well.
The Lizard Man
Tetsuya has an unusual interest in lizards. He keeps a pet chameleon at home because of how fascinated he is with it. Whenever it's in a different colored setting, it changes colors. It reminds Tetsuya of himself.

Username: SoraAngel Slot: Romeo Name: Renji Kashino Age: 16 Gender: Male
❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖
Personality:
{ Curious } It's not hard to see Renji's love for discovering new things. His desire to delve and explore, cannot be easily explained. If he had been so for the sake of expanding his knowledge, one may have called him a sensible person. However, this is not why Renji is so curious. A reason he himself would give for his never-ending curiosity would hint at something to be found, something Renji is searching desperately for. What this something might be, even Renji doesn't know. And after the accident, this desire has become more prominent, as Renji searches for things to fill the gaps in his mind, and, strangely, his heart.
{ Sweet } Renji has always possessed a knight-in-shining-armor complex, a need to be everyone's savior, a need to rescue damsels in distress. Naturally, this makes him a generally sweet person who cares about those close to him and is afraid of losing what he has. He tries to help out as much as he can, even if it seems unreasonable to carry so many of others' burdens. He pointlessly goes out of his way to help, and is thoughtful in expressing feelings of gratitude and kindliness. However, there is more to his sweet side that meets the eye. Undeniably, Renji always finds himself questioning his purpose, his reason to exist. Sometimes, he feels useless, someone who will be forgotten easily after death. In some ways, the sweet smiles he wears and his modesty are only masks of what lies within.
{ Pain } Although it may not be a personality trait within itself, it has greatly affected Renji and the way he acts, even the person he has become. After the accident, Renji has been suffering sudden headaches chronically, especially at times when he tries too hard to regain his memories. The lack of knowledge of his past has left Renji even more confused, and he spends a lot of his time alone attempting to fill the gaps in his memory and trying to figure out who he is - as a person, as a boy, and as Renji Kashino. Whenever he's subject to those he cares about (Akemi, for example) he might become confused and uncertain, perhaps even irritated, at the mixed messages his mind is sending him. The different kinds of memories (mental memory, muscle memory) tell him conflicting things, and the sudden headaches that take over make things worse. Pain has made him less amiable, and he has become temperamental over the years. At times he finds himself snapping at people, and the pain makes him angry and harsh at times he wishes he wasn't. Later, he almost always regrets his words and actions, and finds himself wallowing in self-misery. It seems, to him, that he is falling further and further inside a black abyss, and there may be no way for him to escape.
{ Idealistic } Although he is perceived to be, Renji is not oblivious and blind to some of the darker sides of reality. He is aware of that side - has experienced it personally, in fact (though not many people now this) - but still manages to believe that good things will always prevail in life. His goals are always short of what people would believe to be reasonable, and he finds himself chasing idealistic objectives that seem too far-fetched to be easily accomplished. Still, he sets high moral standards for himself and doesn't often forgive himself for mistakes. He tends to be lenient on others, however, and generally tries to see the good in people - perhaps even desperately, since he is now almost always doubting himself. ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖
Biography:
- Spoiler:
| "I don't want him. I don't want him! |
Renji wasn't supposed to be born. Renji wasn't supposed to exist, but somehow, he did. At the time, not a lot of the world was happy to see him. The first thing his eyes would have seen were his mother's sneering face, glaring down at him. He may not remember it, but he has often wondered - what kind of mother doesn't love her child? What kind of mother attempts to take her own life to get away from him? Even before her marriage, Diane Kashino was not a stable woman. Renji's deceased father, Kaiza Kashino, married Diane knowing that there was something wrong with her state of mind. Still, he was not able to stick around for the birth of his son, and was therefore unable to protect Renji from the disregard he experienced the first year of his life. Renji, thankfully, doesn't remember much of that year. When he was old enough, his Aunt told him everything - she was not one to keep secrets - that his mother was not quite right, and that after several failed attempts at suicide, she died in a dreadful car accident, walking home from work. Died on impact, it seemed. Years later, stepping into a traffic intersection, Renji would be thinking of that very moment and smiling at the irony of it all.
| "No, no, not mama, call me aunty, OK?" |
Just a year and a half after his birth, Renji was taken in by his aunt - his father's only sister. Mai was young, still in her early twenties when she had to look after Renji. She was a decent caretaker - a little harsh, perhaps, but very kind nonetheless. She married a year after she got Renji (Renji was three at the time) and a few months from then, she had a daughter, who she named Diane, after Renji's mother. Renji was not very close to anyone else at the time than he was with his little cousin Diane. Only a year younger than him, he felt protective of her, and even as a five-year-old he pretended to be her savior, a superhero who would swoop in to the rescue whenever she was sad. But Diane was a very weak child. Pale and thin from birth, she was very clumsy and spent most of her time in bed. Renji was always by her side, for he had found something to cherish and love as his own. Mai had been a good caretaker, yes, but she hadn't quite given him the love that every child yearned for. And so Renji lived for the days Diane would giggle and crawl into his arms, and be comforted by his gentle voice and horrible singing. By the time he was six, Renji and Diane were inseparable - until she left him forever. Her time on Earth had come to an end, and only days after his sixth birthday, Diane passed away, leaving Renji empty and hollow. He found himself dressed in all black, mourning for death and wondering, at the same time, what death really was and why it had snatched Diane away from him. He grew started questioning everything and doubting his own morality - there must have been something wrong with him, he must have been a bad boy, for deserving such sadness.
| "I lost something too." |
His wandering mind affected his actions, and this was the year Renji found himself drawn to the outside world. At first he would do it mindlessly, deep in thought, but it soon became a distraction. He would spend countless hours discovering new crevices to keep into, new hiding places, and learn things he hadn't known before. And it was a stroke of luck that on one of these expeditions, he wandered into the hospital playground and met Akemi. The first thing that struck him about her was her frailty, the delicacy he had always seen and admired in Diane. For a little while he watched her, and she looked as if she were searching desperately for something, something she could not find. He felt an unfamiliar tinge of connection inside him, something warm. The expression on her face was similar to what his own had looked like days after Diane's death. Without thinking, he started towards her, and when she stopped to cry, he could not stop himself from attempting to comfort her with a small smile of his own (the very first after a long time). "I lost something too," he told her. He saw her eyes light up as if he had just asked for her hand in marriage, and a warmth radiated from her - one that was different from anything else he had experienced. And that was why he came back, again and again, to visit her and keep her company at times she seemed lonely. Did she see loneliness in his eyes too?
But it didn't matter. Because he wasn't alone. Not anymore.
| "Let's stay like this forever." |
The time Renji spent with Akemi was blissful - heaven on earth. Her shy smiles and tinted cheeks always made him want to see her more, to impress and comfort her. The protectiveness he had felt with Diane was renewed in Akemi but with more vigor, and perhaps he might have felt just a little lightheaded in he presence. These small moments of happiness, however, proved to be short-lived.
Akemi was continuously gaining confidence, and Renji looked at her almost with pride. But Renji was not the kind of person to hone in on one sad soul and stop there. Over the course of time, he began to notice a mysterious but beautiful girl watching them from afar. He had caught fleeting glimpses of her - deep eyes and smooth features, small hands - but he was more than intrigued. At first, he wondered if she was lonely. But there was more to it than Renji had foolishly believed. And he realized this the first day he approached her, when she gazed at him from beneath her eyelashes and politely refused his offer, promptly leaving the room with an air of enigma behind her that surround Renj and soon doused him with curiosity.
A dangerous kind of curiosity.
| "Hello. My name's Kashino Renji." |
He approached her several times after that, never realizing that perhaps he was pushing Akemi further away with his interest in this beautiful young girl that watched them from a distance. Soon he knew her name, and he was captivated by her tinkling laugh and the way she looked at him almost furtively. There was a confidence in her that surprised and amused him, something that Akemi did not quite possess. He found himself falling for her innocence that appeared to mask even deeper mysteries. One could muse that it was his curious side taking over, that he was attracted to her solely to discover more - but to Renji, it was bigger than that. Tomoko became someone he could more than just protect - she became someone he might even be able to cherish. Sadly oblivious to his undiscovered feelings for Akemi, Renji spent more and more time with Tomoko, barely realizing that what he truly cherished was slipping from his grasp.
| "Do I really...deserve to exist?" |
It wasn't long after that Renji began to miss the times spent with Akemi. The time he spent with Tomoko was wonderful, yes, but he felt something obscure lacking from these encounters, something real and genuine he had shared with Akemi. He began to stay awake at night doubting himself and trying to figure out what went wrong. Somehow, he was far more troubled than a twelve-year-old could be. The year passed and he grew increasingly unsure of himself. He would smile at Tomoko and falter. Mai got a divorce and he could hear her sobbing in the night. He would wander, but he never quite came across anything that he hadn't seen before - and yet, something was different.
And then it happened. The last straw. One day she was there, and the next, Tomoko was gone. Just like that, a vital part of his life had vanished, and Renji could not handle her disappearance on top of anything else. He broke down when that boy whose name escaped him told him she had gone, and his befuddled mind got the best of him. For the first time in his life, Renji's temper flared, and he began to scream and yell and throw punches that kept missing, because she was gone, gone, gone and there was nothing he could do to get her back. And suddenly all he had been trying so hard to hold onto seemed to shatter like glass beneath his feet, ripping at his skin and everything he had believed to be true.
Renji fell into despair. He would wander for hours and come home exhausted, and Mai, too grief-ridden, could not get much out of him but hurried apologies and empty promises not to leave again. But leave he did. He was growing increasingly frustrated, because the expeditions were not an escape anymore, and he could no longer run away. He would lose himself in his own mind and find himself on the opposite end of town. One of these instances, he found himself at the edge of the street, and his thoughts scattered and recollected towards his mother, his poor mother who had never loved him, who had lost her life in an intersection just like this one. It had been an accident, but perhaps she had meant to step onto her street in the path of an oncoming car. He had never understood what could have prompted such a mindset, but at that moment, he was sure he knew. He took a deep breath and told himself - it would all be over in a heartbeat. He would die on impact, as his mother had done. It was better to die knowing who he was than die a stranger. He didn't want to lose himself.
He closed his eyes and stepped forward. The last image that popped into his head as he heard the rush of the car and the impending contact was Akemi's gentle face, smiling at him through a haze of mismatched experiences and forgotten memories.
| "Who...am I?" |
Renji woke up in a completely white world. He blinked once, twice, and sat up. Someone shrieked next to him, but softly, and something in his heart jumped in response. He turned to see a young girl sitting beside his bed - she looked sad, as if she had been crying. Renji's first instinct was to comfort her, to tell her everything was OK, but he wasn't sure what "everything" was, and he couldn't seem to form the words. If she was saying something, he couldn't register what she was saying, because his vision was blurred with something, and his cheeks felt wet. Seconds later, he returned to darkness.
When he woke up again, the girl was gone. Renji looked around for her, but when he did not see her, he fell back and stared up at the ceiling, not knowing what to think. This was confusing. What was confusing? He wasn't sure what he was supposed to think, or what he was supposed to feel.
It took almost six months for Renji's more important memories to come back. Things like his name, his age, Mai. He relived his happiness with Diane, and then the sadness of losing her - the nurses had to rush in and sedate him because he was screaming so loud through tears. He relived meeting Akemi, and connected her face to girl who had been beside her. And still there were blanks, here and there, small images he couldn't manage to reconnect.
When Akemi came to visit again, his eyes shone with recognition, and he managed a few words. She seemed to be upset, and it appeared it was something she didn't want to say, but he figured it was only his imagination; he was happy enough to spend time with her again - she was full of warmth that momentarily healed the many cracks in the reality he now lived in. Recollections came and went. As the memories became more recent, it was more and more of a struggle to remember. He couldn't remember the past three years - those were almost completely blank, a dark empty pit of nothing that he tried desperately to shine some light on. There was a blank in his mind, and he felt pain at times without knowing the source, or the reason. He had been hit by a car, they told him, and had been in a coma for over a week, but he had survived. How did it happen? They didn't know. Maybe he just stepped onto the street at the wrong time, and the driver (who had managed to flee) hadn't seen him there. Renji didn't give it much thought - it didn't seem to matter.
Every day was a struggle. He underwent therapy, but he couldn't access any more of his memories. He just needed time, the doctor's said. And even if he was unable to retain those memories, he had to focus on slipping back into the world, and starting where he left off. Because Renji had been mature to begin with, his mindset suited his age (now 14) perfectly. What he had to worry about was obscure familiar faces in his street, the people in his school. He was deathly afraid to start attending again. But with the help of Akemi, he started school again. He was fighting a battle within himself, but he managed to put on a strong front. The headaches were becoming more frequent, but he managed to keep the effects hidden. And through all the heartache and pain, he tried to distance himself from the truth.
Renji had lost himself.
❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖
Strengths:
{ Smiling } Renji smiles often, even if he doesn't feel like it, because he knows the effect it can have. His wide grins and even tiny smiles usually light up his whole face and anyone around him - it's hard to be mad at him when he's smiling. Even if they have strange timing, they usually manage to turn the mood in situations.
{ Loyalty } Many could view his unwavering loyalty as a weakness as well as a strength, a curse as well as a gift. Although he was easily more loyal before the accident, his loyalty to those closest to him - Akemi and Mai, namely - is very strong, and cannot be shaken by much. This doesn't necessarily mean that he plans to stand beside them always (although he does plan to) it also means that he'll defend and fight for them whenever the chance arises. He barely ever doubts them and their words.
Weaknesses:
{ Fear of Change } Renji greatly fears and detests change. He likes it when things remain contact and easy to comprehend - it's not surprising that Renji doesn't like the idea of things changing in the past and future because of the accident and all his mixed feelings about past and present. He just wants things to remain simple, and sometimes overreacts at any mention of change in his routinely life.
{ Impulses } Most of the time, Renji acts purely on impulse - sometimes, impulses that aren't accompanies by thought, and are only spurred by muscle memory (things his mind no longer remembers but body still does). Because of this, he can sometimes find himself in awkward situations and troublesome problems. Still, sometimes his mixed emotions are a distraction, and he is known to hesitate for long times as well.
{ Cars } The sound of traffic, horns blaring, etc. They send him into a panicked frenzy that he can never quite control, and he assumes - as the doctor's say - it's because of his traumatic experience with cars.
❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖
Relationships:
{ Juliet/Akemi } The one real link that extends back to his earliest memories, Akemi has become almost vital to his survival and comfort. He enjoys spending time with her, and evey now and then his own actions and feelings regarding her surprise him - making him wonder what he is missing from the previous three or four years that he is unable to recall. He feels strongest when he is with her and is closest to her, sharing many of his inner thoughts. Still, there is much he keeps from her, including the fact that his headaches are increasing and his feelings are becoming more and more jumbled.
{ Cinderella/Tomoko } Romeo doesn't remember Tomoko at all. Apart from some faded memories of a girl standing afar and watching them, he doesn't know anything else. Still, his mind holds onto those few small memories and they haunt him continuously.
{ Prince Charming/Tetsuya } Romeo doesn't remember him too well - he didn't know him that well to begin with - but those few things he does remember are far from pleasant. Most of the time, he steers clear of Tetsuya.
❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖
Likes
Roses Renji's sweet, romantic side draws him to flowers. Diane loved them, Mai smiles when he buys them for her - he's associated them with happiness and certainty. After the accident, it's one of the smells that comforts him greatly when he's worried, and he likes the peaceful aura they emit.
Soft Music When he was a little boy, Mai was always able to soothe him with soft melodies from a small musical box. Although she no longer knows where it is, soft and gentle music still appeals to Renji, and he often hums made-up tunes when he's feeling stressed to calm himself down.
❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖ --- ❖
Mannerisms
{ Hair } Renji is almost always doing something to his hair. Whether it's running a hand through it, scratching it, tugging at it, or brushing it out of his face, it's become one of the many obvious ways one can trace his emotions and train of thought.
{ Alright } "Alright" is a word Renji often uses in dialogue. He could start or end a sentence with it, ask questions with it, so on and so forth. His extensive use of this word is very noticeable, but it's something he absolutely cannot stop.
